TD helps create more common ground with new natural playground at Ralph Klein Park in Calgary
To celebrate Canada's 150th birthday, we launched the #TDCommonGround project, which is working to revitalize over 150 green spaces across the country. Green spaces are essential elements of every community; it's where people come together and find common ground. Through this initiative, we're working to create a lasting legacy that Canadians will be able to enjoy for years to come.
As one of seven flagship projects across Canada, TD is thrilled to be supporting The City of Calgary with a $500,000 sponsorship to help construct a new natural playground at Ralph Klein Park. The natural playground design will focus on a watershed theme, and the importance of water conservation. Features of the playground will include a climbing wall, hiding areas, a zip line, loose parts and a sandy play area.
To help in the design process, the City worked with Grade 3, 4 and 5 students from Fish Creek School, McKenzie Towne School, Haysboro School and Penbrooke Meadows School to provide feedback on the features and equipment they wanted to see incorporated to the new play area.
"We are thrilled to support the creation of a natural playground here in Ralph Klein Park," says Brian Gervais, Senior Vice President, Prairie Region, TD Bank Group. "With the TD Common Ground Project, we're committed to creating a lasting legacy through the revitalization of green spaces, where communities come together to meet, talk, play and connect. We know the completed park will have a tremendously positive impact on children and families in the region for years to come."
