Celebrating Our Greatest Pride Milestones
As a long-time champion of LGBT rights, TD has helped lead the change in creating a more inclusive society, and this year we're taking a look at how far we've come. As our #ForeverProud journey continues, 2017 saw the sponsorship of 63 Pride festivals across North America and support of more than 100 LGBTQ organizations, and along the way, we've been celebrating Pride milestones across Canada.
This year at each Pride festival, employees, customers and communities, have all been encouraged to share some of their most memorable Pride milestones. While here at TD we celebrate Pride 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, it's been a powerful initiative to see community participants share their personal milestones, highlighting just how far we've come on this journey to inclusivity and diversity.
At our most recent Pride festivals, we experienced record turnouts across the country, celebrated Canada Pride in Montreal, and TD executives participated in Fierté Montreal's national conference on LGBTTIQA2S human rights. In Vancouver we had over 300 energetic marchers join TD in the parade, along with many first time participants this year. Montreal hosted Canada Pride, and we were thrilled to have almost 450 marchers, a TD record for Pride festivals across Canada, come out in support of Pride.
We will forever remain committed to creating an inclusive environment where our customers, employees and communities feel welcomed, valued and supported as their authentic selves, and we look forward to continuing our celebration of Pride milestones across the country.
